There’s no clear path out of this mess. Two weeks ago, I thought I had a job starting in July and now I don’t have a job and its too late to recruit for FT jobs starting in July/August 2023. And the market is way worse and there just aren’t entry level IB jobs open right now. Waiting until February seems dumb because I don’t think the job offer will still be there, but settling for a worse job is also dumb if the UBS/CS job is still on the table. But even if that were the case, I’d be starting at a major disadvantage relative to everyone who started in July. Not sure what to do here..

Definitely not ideal and I resonate with your anger after your hard work (going through the same thing with recruitment).

However, I know everything will work out in the end. You were smart and driven enough to get the offer in the first place.
