Delayed hiring process

Hi, I have a so delayed hiring currently on the way. I just want to know how I can deal with it... This is a little bit of the background. I had the first round of interviews in the first week of November 2019. I met with a VP with whom I have personal networking, she was my research lab's previous graduate and the head of the team. After around 3 weeks of the interview, an hr manager arranged me with a couple of interviews with the global team head, MD and another senior in a different location. It took almost 1 month and I was stuck in the December holiday season. When I contacted the VP in December, he told me that they had also an internal candidate for the position. But the VP told me last week that the internal one decided not to move his location. As most of the team members came back from the holiday last week, I think they were discussing again the process. so I called the hr manager and she told me that she did get approval from the head of some department, but the hiring process still goes on. it has been already a few months passed, and it makes me so nervous. And I am afraid to contact the VP too often. I am currently having another final round with another BB, but from the interview with MD last week, I could feel he is not interested in me. The senior in the BB told me to have another interview tomorrow, giving me some homework... but I am not really sure about the BB, I think they may just waste my time and would pass on me. In my current company, a small boutique, everything, esp hiring, can go very fast from the bottom to MD within 1~2weeks... is it normal taking such a long time in a big organization?
