I think generally the program is quite well regarded. DB Markets is well known and respected globally.

I haven't worked in research before, but i do believe that DB's research team is very hit or miss depending on what sector you cover.

You'll have a good time on the floor anyway...enjoy it!

I would say for DB specifically, chemicals and automotive. Don't quote me on that though, I would suggest that you check out the research analyst polls and see where DB lies overall.

Hours? 8am - 9pm on average. Rare to work on weekends.

BUT, I would try and get to know what kind of people are in the team. I can't tell you how many friends of mine have jacked in research because the people are so nerdy.

Thanks. I really appreciate all your help. I forgot to ask, how is the comp compared to IBD and S&T. Also I am planning on doing research on a specific product, and then moving on to trading for that same product the year after. Do you think this is possible?

have you checked DB website application tracking after your interview? mine changed to something like "invite 2...we will contact you shortly to advise you to the next stage of application"... wonder what this means...

They told me they would get back to us within a week. (NYC interview was on last friday.). btw, what does your status (from the application tracker) say?

I was told to expect the result within 2 weeks (since Jan 23rd) after the interview. I also asked around a few people interviewed with me. They haven't heard back from DB neither. I also got to know that Hong Kong office will have 2-days holiday for the lunar new year. So if they don't work on Sat & Sun, I would say maybe we will hear back them on Monday (thats afternoon and evening this Sunday in the US) ... Oh well, waiting and anticipation are better than the axe...

Is your final round on the 23rd? Isn't that a Sunday?

By the way, I do know one person who got an offer on the 24th Jan (after 2nd round on the 21st).

Yes. it is a Sunday. It is their first recruitment day in North America. I am not familiar with the situation in UK. It's possible tho. Is the 21st last day they recruit in UK? Is the person applying for the Summer Analyst: CIB Market?

Given the fewer number of applicants, they only spent two days in the UK - first round on the 20th and second round on the 21st. That person is a friend of mine and yes she was applying to SA CIB: Markets. I think they made offers to the top picks first; the rest should come out on Monday hopefully.
