Did y'all get an offer after messing up on technicals?

Hey guys. Just did a final round (3 interviews) with a regional bank for a 24' SA position. I was supposed to have an interview with the MD of M&A and the director of HR and an IB analyst. Only the IB analyst was there. I'm assuming both directors were busy. Anyways the interview lasted 45 minutes and he seemed to like me. Though he asked way more technical questions than I was expecting and I got some right but I also got some only partially correct.

Was wondering if anyone here ever messed up on technical and received an offer still? Before he asked me those questions he said "I don't expect you to get these right, I just want to see your thought process" also

I think generally thinking, and from what I heard as the questions get progressively harder that is a good thing and they are trying to find the breaking point - as long as you didn't mess up the basic technical questions, it should be okay.  Once the questions do begin to get more challenging as long as you show some thought and try to hash it out, it should be fine.

It really depends on the questions and what you got wrong / how you got to the correct answer

If it's "name 3 valuation methods" and you only get 2, or $10 depreciation and you end up wrong, those are pretty much auto-dings

If they are fairly difficult and you talk through your thought process and end up in the right spot after some guidance, that's less of a problem. Also if it's like 1 or 2 questions that is fine but if it's half the questions that's more of an issue
