Did You Catch The Mistake In the Email? - An Interesting Interview Question

Recently, I had an interview with a student society in my university. The spots were limited and there was a large number of applicants. After initial screening, I received an email from the club, offering me an interview. Needless to say, I was very excited, and so I breezed through the email, found the location and time, and went off to celebrate.

The interview went great, except for the last question: “Did you catch the mistake in the email?” I did not know what to say. After leaving the interview, I read the email extremely carefully and noticed that they spelled the club name wrong. The club’s name has 5 words in it, and as I already knew which clubs I applied for, I skimmed through the name. That one miss cost me the position…

Moral of the story: when you get an email for internships, job offers, or interviews, do not get too excited and READ THE EMAIL CAREFULLY, as there might be some hidden information there!!

Did anything like this ever happen to you? What was your most interesting interview question?
