Diversity but international
Specifically, I'm a woman from a third world country. Will diversity programs help, or am I still cooked due to needing visa sponsorship?

1000% your fault if you can't get an offer as diversity. I can name at least 5 people from my school while recruiting who didn't know what beta or couldn't walk through a dcf heading to Nomura/Mizuho/CIBC type banks as international.
A woman from a third world country is a mega target for everyone on the street. Know ppl with similar profile as you just made up some shit about them being oppressed (they come from an upper middle class background and grew up in the City) and got GS TMT.
It depends on the bank. If it is a BB that is sponsor-friendly like Goldman, you should still count as diversity.
However there are smaller banks that don't sponsor as easily so I think you have a better shot at BBs.
