Does university degree really matter for get into investment banks?

Do ib really care about what degree you took? I am thinking of applying politics at key target unis (UCL, LSE, Warwick, Durham) in the UK and I am pretty sure I will be able to get into one of these unis. I want to go into ib right after bachelor degree in the UK (in London particularly) Do ib really care about the degree I took? Or does uni matter more (i.e. whether it’s target or not.)

Quite a few politics grads from those unis end up in IB. I did philosophy and got offers too. Although you could’ve googled this and realised they don’t care about degrees too.

Thank you so much, I did Googled it but I still wanted to make sure! Do you have any recommendation for the fifth uni for my UCAS application list? I am currently thinking about applying to UCL, Warwick, LSE and Durham (all politics).

Edinburgh is a solid uni for politics too if a 4-year degree interests u. If you are confident you can get into at least one of the 4 unis mentioned Oxbridge is always an option

Is King’s College an option? Their politics degree ranks pretty high and is based in London. Is it a target school or semi target (or not at all)? I really want to study in London, love the city and has many part time job opportunities to take to get some work or life experience.
