Engineers (hw/sw) here?
Hello, These forums have great advice for finance/bschool people. I was looking for similar forum for engineering guys. An engineer in 30s with experience in semiconductor, I could not find a similar forum for core tech guys (think chip companies intel, qualcomm, altera etc)
Any suggestions that will have discussion regarding pros and cons of engineering work in certain groups of these companies?
btw, I recently applied to a top three bschool for mba and was interviewed but denied. I am also considering if I could directly apply (without mba) to MBB and if it makes sense for my background.
- senior engineer at a tech corporation.
- lead a team of engineers for software products
- MS in comp eng
- leadership role at a nonprofit for the under educated communities
- good ECs overall
focus on TMT VC
e.g intel capital etc
Being in your 30s, you may have aged out of many experienced hire roles in consulting or banking, which target people with 2 to maybe 5 years experience. If you have technical and operations experience, you may have a shot at VC, which many on this board would favor over banking or consulting anyway.
