ER to buyside PM or ER to IB to buyside?

Hi guys,

Curious to your thoughts on my best course of action. Currently in ER at a EB. I was a lateral hire in early 2018. What do you think is the best route I should take. Stay in ER for another 3 years and try to get a PM role at a HF or go for an IB role? Additionally, how is the hiring / recruitment process for the buyside with lateral hires into IB given you might miss the mass interview / hiring cycle associated with first few months for typical IB analyst roles.

Thanks,
