Exit Ops for Bloomberg Sales

I was wondering what are the exit ops for a sales position at Bloomberg? I have been at different forums and an info session from the local Bloomberg office as well. There seems to be a very diverging opinion on the career paths and life at Bloomberg.

The general consensus from the forums I received is that it's a great place as a spring board to BB since bloomberg terminal experience is quite highly regarded. However, the culture and internal advancement is terrible. Is this true? Because at the info session, I've spoken to representatives there and they seem to give out an exact opposite opinion of what I gathered from the forums? And what kinda of advantage will I have with Bloomberg on my resume when I intend to jump ship to other areas of finance?

well no you don't just learn how to sell it you learn how to work it, and early on before you work on the sales desk you actually work on the tech side and you're in constant communication with BB when they execute trades. according to the info session.

just to add another point - you do need some technical knowledge or how else are you gonna sell the 2000+ financial functions that bloomberg offer?

so please if contribute things that are constructive and knowledge that you actually know. please don't speculate.

Guys - Bloomberg's Sales rotational program is a great training program, but it's a sales training program and you'll learn no relevant skills to IB. Yes, you'll know how to work a terminal inside and out, but come on, bankers figure out what they need and how to get it pretty quickly.

You'll do 3 rotations. You start out in 'global customer support' answering calls and helping clients solve various issues, then you'll go to 'analytics' which is a more classroom-like quantitative training program, and then you'll start working your way into sales. It's a great crash course to finance for the typical liberal arts major, but you won't have IBD exit ops.

It's a great program with a ton of very young, very attractive, and very personable people. The culture can be a bit big brother like, but then again Bloomberg's office is ridiculously nice and they provide some awesome free office food. If you want to get into sales, you can't go wrong with Bloomberg, but don't expect banking exits.
