F*cked, F*cked, and More F*cked
I am currently entering my 4th year at a target in Canada (Queen's/Ivey). For 3rd year summer, I was able to break into the US at a particularly sweaty EB. I overestimated the toll that it would take on my body so did not get a FT offer. I have been wallowing in self-pity and have not been on the lookout for FT postings.
Does anyone know when the globals or Big 5 tend to post FT positions? Will I be looked down upon because I did not get a return? I was thinking about not even mentioning it, but that might come back to bite me in the ass.
Pretty sure globals are already done/analyst classes are full. No idea what’s happening with big 5 but given the pretty low/mid return offer rates not sure if they are looking to hire new grads unless the people that didn’t get return offers were just bad.
You’re still in a better position than 99% of people at queens/ivey currently looking for a job. You’ve got over a year to recruit and get something. Keep in touch with people, keep networking, enjoy final year and be ready when the interviews come
bump
You said the reason why you didn’t get a return offer was because you underestimated the demands of the job and couldn’t cut it. Now that you went through this why do you still want to do IB? What makes you think that your experiences at Big five are going to be any different?
