Does anyone have recommendations for divisions/groups within banks that would be a good fit for someone also interested in politics? As of now I'm thinking Public Finance or Macro Research are the two best bets, but would appreciate any advice or other suggestions.

Yes, I would agree that Public Finance and Macro Research would be the two best positions within a bank. Another option would be to work in financial risk/financial consulting at a firm with a federal consulting practice.
