first in-person interview etiquette? I go for a handshake right?
Hi I have my first in-person job interview ever coming up. all my previous few final rounds etc were online thanks to vid-19. This is at a top BB so I'm really keen to do well.
I'm not concerned about my technicals/company knowledge/commercial awareness but I'm concerned that I haven't got a decent grasp of interview etiquette is as a result. I have a few questions.
-
Do I offer a handshake to each interviewer? I intend to do this. If so do I do only one at the start and when I greet/introduce myself, or also at the end?
-
Should I bring some copies of my resume?
My current plan is to:
-
Wear a suit and tie obviously
-
Bring a notebook and pen
-
be enthusiastic but also chill
-
arrive 10-15 before
Thank you in advance guys
My recommendation is to get down on your knees and ask "BJ?" There's nothing wrong with a handshake, for say, but it's just not likely to leave a strong impression or convey the eagerness that you probably want to convey in order to stand out.
That's my recommendation. Obviously, different people have different styles (e.g., flashing tits, etc.)
I personally would forego the handshake - not really necessary imo.
When I was interviewing at FTP, in each discussion I started by staring deeply into my interviewers eyes and then reaching out to stroke their face with the back my hand. I would then gently kiss them on the lips. Use your discretion on whether to tongue is necessary or not. I felt that my superior kiss really set me apart from the other candidates. Just my advice.
What will happen is that someone will come down to the office lobby and come grab you. Shake their hand when they greet you. You will make small talk with them in the elevator. Once you get to the floor, they will show you to the conference room where your interviews are conducted. You will be asked if you want anything - accept a water. If they do not tell you take a seat, you should ask before sitting.
After each interview, you will get up, shake your interviewer’s hand and thank them for their time. You will then sit down again until the next person arrives. You will again stand up, shake their hand, and greet them. Do not sit down until they do. Small talk until they decide to kick off the interview
This is the way
thank you so much

Always bring copies of your resume. Print it out on cotton paper with the watermark facing the right way. If they hold your resume up to the light and the watermark is upside down, it is bad attention to detail.
What watermark exactly (for a personal-CV)?
