Following Up After No Response
Did an interview for an internship position at a pretty large firm a week ago. It went pretty well, and the man who interviewed me emailed me saying they will get back to me after they interview 2 other candidates. Haven't gotten an email yet. If I don't end up getting it, I need to start looking elsewhere. Would a follow up email be a good idea?
Hi Intern in PE - Other, whoops, looks like nobody chimed in here.... maybe one of these discussions below is relevant:

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
No response is a response. The reason why I say this is because I have interviewed candidates and there are way too many to go through so whoever isn’t moving onto the next step we reject once the candidate we hire is finalized. If they want you, they will get back to you. If they don’t, they don’t want you. Leave it.
Just to offer a different view, I interviewed for a company and got a call 3w after the final stage (after sending them a couple emails to ask for a status update). Usually I’d say that you should always assume you’re not moved to the next stage so you don’t end up disappointed but having a proactive approach pays off.
