Freshman International Student at NYU Stern questioning job placements?

So I recently started the job grind but most, if not all of the jobs have "You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future". It just seems like pure bullshit where these companies exclaim all about "diversity" and "inclusivity" yet they got this quick sentence that stops any non-US citizen from applying. I was advised by mentors and others to basically "lie" and say I won't require future sponsorship since I technically won't for a couple of years (I'm Canadian). So what's the perspective here, especially for any other international students in the same dilemma?
