Frustration with Lack of Communication After Superday

Had a Superday at MM bank. HR is heavily encouraged to reply to emails from candidates if they have any questions about the process.
Process is like 2 months, I've reached out twice, politely seeking a simple timeline for the process. I've even let an offer slip by because I'm genuinely interested in this specific role. It's mind-boggling that they can't provide a ballpark estimate, or at the very least acknowledge the urgency. If they told me they'd decide before 2025, I'd probably find that oddly comforting at this point.
I'm left wondering, does HR get bonuses for doing the bare minimum? Isn't effective communication a fundamental aspect of their job in recruitment? I'd be surprised if they're commuting to an office – they can respond to emails from the comfort of their beds.
Is it too much to ask for a little transparency and communication in this process? Has anyone else experienced something similar, or am I just caught in a recruitment Bermuda Triangle?

Good to know! Doesn't dismiss the fact that I asked for a timeline the first time before I was invited to the Superday. However, I just spoke to another incoming Analyst who told me that interviewing wasn't quite done and it might be different.

To answer your first question that's the big reason why I emailed them in the first place, no response.

To answer your second question, it was S&T related role at a great bank. Just wasn't IB. Also this bank is very appealing to me (culture, coverage, location etc.)
