Full-Time Job vs. Internship

I'll keep this short.

Transferring from CC to University. I work full-time in a marketing/inside sales position for a company unrelated to finance.

Please give me your recommendations on how I should best approach the next two years to acquire the experience I need to be well-respected in an interview. I understand internships are a must, I want to know if the individual interviewing me will frown upon my my Freshman/Sophomore summers being devoted solely to work rather than an internship.

How do I spin something like that to be seen in a positive light? Is that a negative altogether? I have been learning financial modelling and technicals in my free-time.

I appreciate your responses. Any other advice is welcome.
