GM Financial Advisors

I recently got an interview scheduled with GM Financial Group for a the position of Financial Advisor through a LinkedIn post and I am having trouble figuring out who these guys are. I have found two companies, GM Financial Group, and GM Advisory Group but I think it's the first one. I can't for the life of me figure out why a financing division of an auto manufacturer has a role for a Financial Advisor. Is anyone able to give me some insight as to who they are and what they do?
