Good Connection Points for Coffee Chat

I'm blasting a bunch of emails but still take enough time to select certain people and hand write each email. I'm curious what good connection points would be. Like aside from literally meeting in person in the past or warm connection, T1 imo would be university/hometown, then T2 would be affiliated organizations, shared past internship programs, then idek after that. Is there anything else I could connect on?

Purely my own views so these are opinions only:

1) Just connect with a personal note on LinkedIn (which is a networking platform that exists specifically for networking. I personally find people guessing my email a bit invasive / presumptious)

2) I'd respond well to someone who picked up anything on my LinkedIn (which might include military, a sport, a charity, etc.), but nothing more. That's sort of the data set you have to work with. Anything more (if you found my Facebook) gets creepy. And just saying "I find [Product team / Coverage team / Bank] interesting" is really a Tier 5 or something. One idea might be to pick up on some career moves that are interesting (either overseas or just non-obvious like EB to BB or to a different team).

Good luck!
