Google APMM

With first rounds from multiple BB's and one of the M/B/B, but no invites to second rounds, and point-blank admissions that some were planning to hire just 1 for summers, I've been trying to expand my job search. I applied to Google, and I will be interviewing for the Associate Product Marketing Manager position.

Does anyone know anything about the questions they ask? I have two 30 minute phone interviews coming up with the Marketing team; I know this doesn't directly relate to IB. However, I am curious to see what the opportunities could be coming out of Google (VC?). In this market, I actually would be super psyched to work at Google, especially at least for the summer.

Thanks for the input.

I was wondering if anyone had any comments regarding the opportunities of the Google Associate Product Marketing Manager program. I know that salary-wise it is comparable with consulting, around $70k with all of the Google benefits and potential stock options. Most APMMs advance to Product Marketing Managers in a couple of years, and after interviewed with and researched the position, it feels like I would enjoy a job like that.

A little more background: I was looking to get in to M/B/B consulting, but found this opportunity to intern with Google over the summer, with the potential for FT conversion. How does it compare to M/B/B in terms of exit ops and admission to b-school, and would I be able to convert this internship into a M/B/B offer during FT recruiting?

Don't know about the program, but I feel your experience will be very relevant to MBB consulting given that marketing definitely involves a lot of strategy in how to provide customer value, capture customer value, 106 stuff etc. etc. Definitely more applicable than a BB internship. Google has a great brand name and I'm thinking it definitely wouldn't be a bad internship by any means, especially in this type of market environment.

Not sure about its exit ops relative to MBB consulting, but I imagine they are definitely good albeit different. I'm sure b-schools look very favorably upon Google, especially Stanford b/c of the connection with the founders?

yeah... leave google? has anyone done that for any reason other than to cash out? jk, but good luck on the interviews - itll be a great experience if you get it
