Graduating a Semester Early

So I just have a pretty easy question. I am a rising sophomore at a semi/non-target university, and I want to break into high finance (PE, VC, IB, PC, or Strategy Consulting) and I have the ability to graduate a semester early. This would mean that I would be graduating the winter of 2027. My big question is if I should graduate early (I would just be taking gen eds during the summer and breaks) or if I would be better positioned for a job if I graduate in June.

really don't think it matters, most job postings are applicable for people graduating between ex Dec 2025 and June 2026. it would mean 6 months of either fun travel or saving up to start full time since you probably start in july.

one thing that could help you is if you were to do a co-op/6 month internship program ex first semester of last year or second sem of second-to-last year, and graduate as expected. this would really expand your experience past average 10 week summer internships and could actually help you on the job hunt, whereas graduating 6 months early makes no difference

For the 6 month internship, if I am recruiting for IB and PE, wouldn't I already have a full time offer ATP, or is this more applicable for fields like consulting.

remember you’ll recruit for a 6 mo internship well in advance, so you’ll be able to put it as ‘incoming analyst at ____’ bank. this will help you when recruiting FT
