Great coffee chat then ghosted... next steps?

I recently had two great chats, both went very well and the associates offered themselves to refer me over to other folks on their teams to discuss recruiting opportunites/meeting other members on team. I felt like a million bucks, made sure to send sincere thank you emails and proceeded to get ghosted...by both people. I've followed up twice with both but haven't heard anything.

Any suggestions as to next steps or should I just take the losses and keep moving forward. The main reason I'm surpised I was ghosed was both due to the quality of the chats and the fact that in both cases it was the associate who offered making introductions, I did not ask nor presure them into anything.
