Headhunter Process

Can anyone go into what the timeline of their processes look like? Had a first round with a MM global PE Wednesday night; second round with a partner this morning; HH said “let’s catch up early next week.”

Would HH have let me know if I was rejected already? Or is it possible they’re working with other candidates? Haven’t caught up with client yet? Seems a bit odd as they were so quick to respond and coordinate first and second rounds... but then again it’s the weekend.

Very stressed, not sure what to think anymore.

You had a second round on Thanksgiving day??? And you're worried about not hearing back yet??? Cool your jets man!

Do you have any updates? I’d imagine that with the holidays coming up, everyone at the firm is super busy. In my recent experience recruiting with a top 50 REPE firm, it took a month and half from my first interview to getting an offer. There were a few weeks towards the end where I didn’t hear much and was waiting around.

Actually went in for an in-person meeting to discuss my case study. Extremely thorough case study model and presentation. I feel like I blacked out, but think I did well.

I found out I was the only candidate they actually met with in person, but HH told me that I was not the only final candidate. Given Covid, I take it as a compliment. Does that mean I am choice #1? I think next phase, if they decide to proceed, is to meet with general corporate people. Fingers crossed...

Meeting in person during covid (and during this particular time in covid) is def a great sign. They wouldn’t put themselves and you at risk if they weren’t very interested in your candidacy. I also had an in-person meeting before they extended an offer. It makes sense that the headhunter would tell you that you’re not the only finalist bc nothing is set in stone yet, but I would take it as a very good sign. Wishing you the best of luck.
