Headhunters and grades blocking the way (London)

Hello,

I am currently finishing my first year as an analyst. I worked on five transactions (3 M&A, 2 Res) and do like my current job but not my team and am therefore looking to join a different firm.

Recently, I started talking to HH about moving jobs after my second year. They appreciate my experience but noticed that if I wanted to join a more prestigious firm or PE, I would need a 2:1 (London) which I did not achieve in my Bachelors. Looking at job postings of some of the banks, I found that some of them indeed include that as their requirement. I thought that I made it into the industry and got rid of the stigma with a low grade.

Luckily, I came out of university without any debt. I am already in the industry and got some relevant experience. Bearning in mind that I am in London, would an MBA help here? I am also wondering whether I would even get into a decent program with these grades...

Any advice is appreciated.
