help, should i email about a job that isnt publicly posted?
Might be a bonehead move, but I am a bit confused on this
So I've been doing some networking, and one of the people I hit it off with was the head of a group at a major BB. Dude's solid. Told me to stay in touch. At the time, they weren't hiring, and that was just last month.
Fast forward to now, while I've been on the hunt for new gigs, I stumbled upon a job listing for a 2024 Investment Banking Full-Time Analyst Program, they posted it this last week. this one's for a fresh grad, not experienced hires I checked but I can't find this job anywhere else — not on LinkedIn, their own site when I search. But my buddy from a target school sees it on their handshake, but not on mine-I am none target
So here's the big question: Should I hit up the MD about it? Part of me thinks it's a dumb move, especially if the job listing isn't legit, bc wouldn’t they atlest make it directly visible on their website? I can find it if I google it word to word but not when I search for it
Why not just reach out asking about full time opportunities for next summer, without mentioning this specific listing?
i had asked him when i had the call, they were actually hiring a experienced analyst so i asked him if i should apply for that he said not to and just keep grinding and the market might change
