How did interview go

Hi, I had an interview yesterday and am unsure about how it went. The interview started with a brief background and then the interviewer started asking questions. It didn’t seem like she had a set list of questions to get through bc she asked me one and then followed up on it like twenty times. Most of the time she responded yeah that makes sense to what I said but once she gave me feedback saying yeah that makes sense - you also could have said this.

In the second part it was a bit more challenging and the way I approached it was right but could have been far more optimal. She gave me a slight hint and I slightly adjusted my answer but then she gave me a bigger hint and let me do it again, after which I think she could see that I had understood the hint. At the end she explained the most optimal way to solve it and told me it was a very very difficult question.

After this, she asked me “this is your first interview right” and to which I said no it’s my second and then she asked who had interviewed me before.

She ended the interview by letting me ask questions which she answered in detail and then saying it was really great talking to you and I enjoyed discussing the second question with you, we’ll be in touch.

I sent a thank you note yesterday but no response and am starting to get a little worried, since last time I found out I was moving forward the same day. How do you think it went? Should I email hr asking when I’ll hear back?
