How do headhunters/recruiters view Mil experience/ Service Academy undergrads?

I am currently an Army Officer about 20 months out from the end of my service obligation. I've seen a few threads on Mil-Finance transitions, but none that address how HF/PE/VC headhunters/recruiters view Service Academy Grads. Is an undergrad from a Service Academy (West Point specifically) considered somewhat near the target schools in level of prestige, or is it basically at the same level as an undergrad from any non-target school? I know business schools look very favorably on Mil experience, especially Combat Arms Officers ( I'm Infantry with a Ranger Tab, so hopefully that will help)

what's the context of your question - are you planning to apply for HF/PE/VC jobs directly once your service is complete or are you planning to apply to b-school with the hopes of transitioning to HF/PE/VC after?

Go straight into B school. The path is much better for you that way than trying to apply straight off the bat. B schools like the military / your leadership and top firms like B schools when you're coming out as a trained alumni.

20 months out is good. Take time to ace the GMAT and craft a polished application with some good recommendations. You should be able to use your 9/11 GI bill to pay for it and get BAH and stuff too.
