Hello chimps. I know it's a bit early in my case, but I've been dying from anxiety lately.
So, I've been interviewing for a Tier 1~2 PE and I haven't heard back in a while. The timeline goes: - Late June - first interview with VP - Early July - model test (2 weeks after the interview) - Mid July - interview with the MD whose im charge of the team (1 week after the model test)
During the first interview they said they're gonna make a decision by end of 3Q, but after the model test they said they'll have a final decision in 3 weeks which is this week. They also said there might be additional interviews with senior managment after the MD interview, but they weren't sure.
I know it varies a lot depending on the firm's internal procedures and how urgently they need the position filled. But is it bad that I'm not receiving any messages after 2 weeks? Should I reach out to their HR? Is there still hope left for me?
No news is generally bad news, but I would contact HR and get an update. I have received positive feedback no later than 2-3 days after interviews in most processes, worst case a week.
Revisited this post after a few months. Thanks and you were right. I was confused coz they said they really liked me. Turns out it was because I had a bit more YOE than the other candidate, so a better fit.
