How long should I wait to reach out after a superday?
I recently had a super day last Thursday (8/29) for a PGIM Debt Originations Analyst position. It is now Monday (9/3) and I haven't heard anything back. I know its early, but I was wondering how long I should wait before reaching back out. I networked the opportunity well and have a few people on my side over there. One of them went to my undergrad and I am considering sending an email asking about timeline but also reiterating my overwhelming interest in the opportunity and passion for the work their team does. I really really want this job. Any idea how I should approach without looking too desperate because I know that will drive them away?
Also, for a little context:
I felt decent about the interview. Two of my interviewers were people that I had networked with previously, but brain teasers and mental math got the best of me. All-in-all I think my ability to articulate my understanding of the role, how my experience in real estate banking ties directly to the role, and how I align closely with their culture by using specific examples was great. However, when I sent follow up emails the same day after the super day I received no responses. I know I am overthinking but would appreciate some advice.
If you wrote a thank you email (and you should have) I’d at least give it a week, if not two. Especially with the holiday weekend.
If you didn’t, go ahead and write one now and find a way to weave “timeline” or “next steps” into it.
