How perfectly do you have to answer during superdays?

Recently had superday and momentarily blanked out for like 3 seconds about something on my resume during one of the interviews but quickly gathered myself again. I think it was just the nervousness, plus it was like my 4th interview, so I was honestly just really tired and exhausted by the end. Is that by itself enough for bankers to ding a candidate? Thanks

On technicals - low threshold for answers unless it's something seriously basic. All about the thought process and if you can work through it with guidance.

On resume - if you can't talk about something you have on there very well that's a ding. It comes across as not knowing your involvement or just spacey.

Learn from it and have items on your resume down so cold that you've already rehearsed the answer to any possible questions 100 times. Next time you'll be better, don't take it too hard.

Banking interviewing basics:

  • Have technicals down cold. They are a check the box item, don't let them be reason you get cut
  • Know your resume and be able to talk about anything. I've had kids get asked about one of their interests (like they had running long distances or collecting stamps or whatever people put these days) and have no clue what to say about it. Don't be that person
  • Be able to articulate why you want to work in banking and at that particular firm

If you are fine on those three items and are an easy individual to get along with, you will be fine.
