How to ask for sophomore summer internship

Rising sophomore at H/Y/P planning on recruiting for ib SA 2028 but want to find a relevant and interesting internship for next summer. I have some connections for LMM PE and HF but don't know how to go from coffee chat to asking for internship without seeming pushy or entitled, I have relevant experience but connections aren't like my dads college buddies

Just be genuinely curious (and understand) their firm. Then in the call just casually mention that it matches what you are wanting to learn more about and directly ask if they have an internship program. Most places do and more often than not, if the call has gone well and you're a good candidate/option they will extend it.

Other option too is talk to an upperclassmen who has gone already and interned at the spot you're looking to go and ask him what the internship program application process looks like. As I'm writing this probably do that first, but in the call follow what I said initially.
