How to break into corporate finance from commercial banking

Hi there everybody, I'm new to WSO though I've been reading discussions for a while.

I work in CB at a Spanish bank (in Spain). It's not a bad lifestyle, but I aim to reach CFO position in the long term. I'm also a professor in university.

Can you give me some advice as to what steps should I take? Should I target FP&A positions or are there other better paths?
