How valuable is it to be the first interviewee of the day?
I REALLY don't want to miss this class I have that morning. But this job would be freaking awesome, and if it actually makes a difference in my chances then I might as well skip the class.
Another question is, if I decide not to take the very first slot of the day, should I take the very last one instead? Seems like you'd be better off taking the very last one of the day, because it'd be very easy to remember you and stick in their heads. No?
[by the way, I know there's another thread about this somewhere on here. I couldn't find it, and also I don't remember that it answered my second question.]
if you're good, you're good. if not, getting a rumored-to-be potentially-advantageous slot is not going to help.
to a certain extent i agree with unct91. however, after talking with a number of bankers during my internship last summer they said that they tend to forget the first person who interviews and often by the end of the day they already have chosen the people they want putting the last few people at a disadvantage. Additionally, the one interview before lunch, the interviewers just want to get out and eat and will not be focused. that said, if you are an amazing interviewer it probably won't matter.
whatlife: what is your recommendation in that case? if they tend to forget the first person who interviews, and the interviewee right before lunch gets ignored, but by the afternoon they know who they want, what's left?
edit: nevermind. I found 3 other threads on this where they cover everything.
