HR asking for grades

Hey,

just got an email from HR (Sales and Trading Summer Analyst, BB) asking for my high school grades and my uni grads (to date). My high school grades are really good and my first semester grades from university are ok (2.1) but my second semester grades are well... not so good. (2.2.).

What should I do? Should I try and explain why? - At that time I was applying to internships and interviewing/doing various assessments for my gap year (that is completely dedicated to gaining experience in the industry). Is that something that I should stress and point out? - FYI: My first year grades don't count towards my final grades

Would really appreciate it if you guys helped me out.

Cheers

Can't really do much other than to give them your grades. You MIGHT be able to get away with just giving them your final overall grades, but don't count on it. If there were mitigating circumstances (proper ones) then definitely mention them, but otherwise you can't really do much.

Dont sweat it, I have worse grades than you and still have offers. Grades arent everything. Networking (even in the UK) WILL help you, even if it just gets your CV in front of the right person.

I know this must be pretty confusing... for me too, because on the other application (HK) I had stated my expected final grade/gpa.... Still in the recruiting process. Submitted the application last week. Weird thing is that they didn't even ask me for the high school grades in the application... I put my final score on my CV but they're asking for all individual subjects..

Hopefully, I will be fine because my CV is pretty strong for age. Also I'm applying one year early so my internship experiences will hopefully make an even better impression.

Thanks guys.

No the high school grades aren't worrying me at all. My current grades aren't too far off from the expected final grade but right now its below the magic 2.1 benchmark. So thats sort of what is worrying me, because the recruiter obviously wouldn't have sent me an email if I was a lousy candidate with no chance of landing an interview... Should I be worried or do the grades really not matter that much? This might just be to make sure that I am not an idiot.
