I am chasing something that probably does not exist.

Spam account because I did not want to embarrass myself. I graduated this December from a non target, with a 4.00, internship every summer (IB in 2023), campus involvement and since then, I have had a grand total of 2 interviews. I am not talking about IB, I am talking about the most basic 'financial analyst position'. 1 of those 2 interviews was an AR specialist role at a logistics company. My work authorization starts in a week's time post which I have 90 days to land a job, else it's a goodbye. I reach out to people on a daily basis, and while some are kind enough to hop on a call, the conversation is always along the lines of "we aren't hiring/new positions aren't being added"

Makes me wonder, am I chasing something that does not exist? I can't even describe how I feel rn.

Shit on this post, troll me, drop advice! Feel free to do whatever you. want.

Stop reaching out to people who aren't hiring.

Lurk "FP&A analyst" "financial analyst" "strategy analyst" literally anything analyst on LinkedIn, go on the careers sites for companies near you, etc - if you see a posting, go find LinkedIn and network with those teams about their open role. People are usually receptive to outreach for roles they're actively looking to fill. You should not be wasting time networking with random alums or folks who may be sympathetic but can't change that they are not hiring.
