IB Recruitment Timeline for Juniors & Seniors who didn't land a junior-year IB internship

I am currently a sophomore in college and have not found any success with a 2024 IB summer internship. Going forward, I plan to apply for the next round of IB applications, and was wondering how that process works for those in my situation.

I have my technicals down and had over 50+ networking calls and several HireVues, but no luck this year. It is what it is, I will keep working as hard as I can and want to know what the road looks like going forward in order to strategize for the upcoming opportunities, given that it is much harder to land a full-time role versus an intern with a return offer. Thank you and I would appreciate any help I could get.

You shouldn't worry about missing the first round of recruiting. There are tons of LMM shops that will start recruitment later into the summer or even fall. I would keep networking, especially towards those shops, and keep technicals sharp. Showing your continued interest in the industry is also always good, maybe taking courses or competing in case comps, really just anything to stay busy and talk about in interviews/coffee chats.

Fulltime roles are still pretty far out for you as you'd be looking post-summer 2024. Fulltime market conditions then will have hopefully turned a little from the current situation if activity picks up.

Thank you for your thorough reponse, I appreciate it. I have two follow-up questions:

1) What are some LMM Investment Banks that are recruiting this summer/fall?

2) What does the recruiting schedule look like for 2025 FT IB Analyst roles? Given that 2024 SA recruiting started so early this year, I would presume that 2025 would start sometime soon as well, though I am not sure.

Thank you again and please let me know.
