I'm not enjoying S&T as a summer intern ... what is next?

Background I am one week into my cut short summer internship, and I am not enjoying it. I know so many people would kill to be in my spot right now. I realize how lucky I am to be at a large bank with so many resources and wonderful people. I've worked hard to get here (first gen) but realized I don't have "passion" for this and I cannot see myself working in S&T everyday and would just be lying to myself. I've been meticulously planning my future, reached this milestone of getting a summer internship in a role I put on a pedestal, only to realize this is too difficult for me to grasp and while I major in economics and find the topic interesting, it is not the same as in S&T in the real world. I chased prestige and money (because I wanted to make my family proud as first gen), over passion, and realize I value passion and a better work life balance after all. However, I don't know where my passion lies...

Problem I am struggling to learn quickly - I work hard by practice and hours studied, not making connections quickly. So yes, I am not a genius, but a hard worker. I'm pretty sure my interviewers liked me for this gritty background, but I feel and am incompetent. I dread waking up each day knowing I will be behind everyone else. I have tried convincing myself I can do this, but I feel stupid in front of everyone else and that kills my motivation and conviction that I can succeed in a S&T role.

What should I pursue next? I talked to an analyst who said to still finish and complete the internship which I plan to do, but I've given up on trying to get a return offer knowing I won't return and probably won't get one because I haven't networked or asked tons of questions because I don't know what to ask. Basically I suck as an intern. I understand some people may say to pull up those bootstraps and carry on, but I know I will be miserable in this career. I want to know what industry to try after this, besides consulting or front office sell side roles.

Any ideas please? Any companies to look into? When recruiting full time, how do I explain I didn't get a full time return offer?

I am very lost right now and any help is greatly appreaciated.
