Impressing my supervisor?

Sup guys, I'm a senior undergrad at a non target applying for a master's program at a target next year. For context, I have a professor who teaches accounting at my uni whom I really like (he's a prof at the target I'm applying for), and he's agreed to be my thesis supervisor.

Here's the point: for different reasons, my uni doen't require my final year dissertation to be anything requiring any kind of serious work (a ppt presentation is just fine) although one can decide to write a 60 page thesis if he wishes to. Considering my prof's network and standing, should I ask him if he's willing to supervise a larger, more serious work? Would it bring any kind of benefit?
