In Need of Advice Regarding Career Path

Brief Overview - Will be attending a decent state school this fall as an incoming junior, majoring in Economics (Quantitative Analysis) and minoring in RE.

Always planned on being a professional athlete but unfortunately that is no longer a possibility, so now I must work towards another profession and have always had an interest in banking in general. I have a few questions which I need answered to allow myself time to minimize the uncertainty involved with setting up a career.

The questions here bounce around so please bear with me.

1) Is it possible to get a decent internship with ~3.6-3.75 GPA from what is definitely not a target university? If so, what is the best approach to securing such a position?

2) Although I am taking QA, I have no interest in becoming a quant. I enjoy the math, optimization, modeling etc. but prefer a more personal position. With that being said, which specific fields come to mind?

3) I have applied to the JPM Comm. Real Estate Analyst intern position for next year as it seems interesting, however unsure whether or not that career path would bring the chicken home down the road. Insight into that would be appreciated.

4) Is taking QA even worth it as far as resumes go? Essentially going to be all math classes with the rest being economics.
