Incoming SA at Barclays- Concerns about Exodus + Comp

Hey Everyone,

I'm an incoming IB SA at Barclays in New York. I am a little scared hearing about the exodus of sorts that has been happening. I have also heard the IB Pay at Barclays is much lower than at other banks.

I want to know what groups at Barc would be the best for exits but also comp.

Lastly, should I pursue FT recruitment ? What firms/roles are worth it?

it's just an L, big downside of how early recruiting is. Barclays is now on the same tier as UBS and still above DB. Had less deal flow than UBS last year in terms of global M&A revenue and a bit more this year so far. However, as mentioned Barclays lost a lot of seniors and when that's reflected it's probably the second-worst BB behind DB. Nothing you can do, and it remains a BB with a stronger reputation than UBS/DB, but probably won't for too long given where league tables are. Barclays group placement is also super wonky, make sure you get a coverage or product group that actually models before thinking about lateraling.
