Indeed/Simply Hired, Doostang, OneWire

Just a quick question. How effective are these sites for finding job opportunities?

Do the jobs get posted right away [as they become available] to these websites, or does it take some time for the jobs to be posted to the websites?

Any helpful response would be great, thank you!

WallStreetOasis.comWSO job board for the win. 100% transparency...you don't need a subscription to see all the jobs we have. :-)

will you post success stories?

I got a phone interview for IB.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

I have been considering buying a subcription to the WSO job board, but I honestly don't see a lot of listings for asset management, which is my goal. The listings for AM are not too common. Is there any chance WSO plans to improve listings for AM? I know this forum is more about IBD/PE, so I can understand why AM can get left out sometimes.

Force ranking the OP's boards it would come down to

  1. OneWire
  2. Doostang
  3. Indeed

The reason why is OneWire filters out for finance specific jobs which is what everyone here is looking for. Doostang comes next because the employers are likely more serious about hiring when they are paying to get better resumes. Indeed would be last as it is a fairly good data tool that picks up jobs across sectors.

Know of a few guys who have gotten jobs off all of them, sure WSO board is fine as well. At the end of the day your best jobs are going to come from the same tired old answer... Networking. Or even better... Getting hunted. Always want to be in the position of power in interviews if possible.

In my experience - indeed has been most useful (just aggregates postings for multiples sources - company websites, job boards, etc). Onewire is OK - not a lot of positions. Doostang has always been a dud for me. Many of the postings are out of date (already filled) or copied from other sites.
