Internally moving from (Retail) Credit Risk to Market Risk within a top tier Investment bank
I am currently working in market risk since few months and was offered a position as associate for retail credit risk which is paying double my current salary. Is it worth starting this position to then move back internally in the same bank to market risk after few years? Is it possible to move to do so and still retain the associate position and spend less years to get to VP? How easy is to move internally within the quantitative risk departments of a bank? I really like the bank which offered me the position and would love to work there but in market risk, however I was only offered a position in credit risk. Probably I could leverage the programming and quantitative experience of the job and some networking but I am not sure whether it is enough. Need some advice and experiences on internal moving in a bank. Thanks!
