Internship hesitation - What to do to optimize my career path ?

Hello everyone,

I had already asked a question of this type, but I'd like to clarify it so that I can get more detailed answers.

Indeed, I am in a mid target school and I found my end of Master in Finance internship in the REPE (direct investments in hospitality/residencial/healthcare) investment desk of the family office of an esteemed bank in my country.

However, I'm currently in the process for M&A roles at CAC40 banks, with no certainty at all of being hired.

So I'd like to know if you think I should take the REPE internship, even if the company is mid-sized, to try and branch out into real estate M&A or other private market positions afterwards without being pigeonholed into acquisitions?

Or should I take the risk of waiting for the other M&A internships ?

Note: The REPE internship would make me participate in a lot of deals/modelling/financing research etc.. with the investment managers.

Thanks !
