Most templates or advice articles I have read online all emphasize the importance of opening up your cover letter explaining how you came across the firm, and how that drove you to apply for a role there.
This works very well when applying to boutique shops that you wouldn't have been expected to have heard of.
However, when applying for positions at BB banks, it seems a bit ridiculous. I've heard of these banks since I was a young teenager.
Do I say this in my cover letter, or take a different tact entirely?
