Is Goldman Sachs Emerging Leaders Series Diversity Only?

I was accepted into the GS Emerging Leaders Series, and recently received an invite to an in person event with flight and hotel accommodations provided.

I'm still not sure how I got accepted if this is a Diversity Only program, and if I should thus not attend the in person event.

Does anyone have insight into if this is a diversity program or merit based?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the Goldman Sachs Emerging Leaders Series is indeed a diversity program. It is designed to recruit for their sophomore programs, and applications typically open in the spring. The program is competitive, with low acceptance rates, so being accepted is a significant achievement.

If you have been accepted and received an invite to an in-person event with flight and hotel accommodations provided, it indicates that you meet the criteria for the program. It is not solely merit-based but also focuses on diversity.

You should definitely attend the in-person event as it is a valuable opportunity for networking and gaining insights into Goldman Sachs.
