Is it over for me??

I am a current sophomore at a target school in Chicago, hoping to break into IB. My freshmen year did not go well though, and I currently have a 2.8 gpa, no relevant internships, and am not in any finance clubs. I am a URM and have some decent industry connections, but can those even help with how trash my stats are? Is it possible to come back from this or should I try to pivot to a different industry?

Seconding the above reply. Try to gain work experience anywhere (sales etc.) and leverage that.

MSF is a good option as well if you still want a front office role. It might be tough rn but keep pushing. Those who persist despite the circumstances will always win in the end.

If you managed to get a 4.0 this semester (which is unlikely to happen unless you're taking really easy classes) you could get to a 3.2 which could be offset by going to Uchicago. Otherwise I'd echo the advice of those above.
