Is it possible to get a full-time job at a BB in NY if you intern at a BB in Hong Kong junior summer?
I received an offer from a BB that I'd love to work for for junior summer internship. However, the offer is in Hong Kong, which might be due to my citizenship (non-American). I would still love to work in New York after I graduate. Has anyone ever heard of any similar case where the person successfully ends up in New York? How hard would it be?

If not, NY will be very hard. You would likely have to work in your local country for a couple of years and then transfer.
I'm not a citizen, but I studied STEM major in a U.S. college so I wouldn't need sponsorship for 3 years. Would that make a difference at all?

Not even I just apply for full-time positions elsewhere? I thought there are a lot of people who don't end up getting/taking the return offer and have to do the recruiting season all over again.
Thought you meant how likely is it to get a return offer for NYC if you intern in HK - that is almost impossible. Yes. you can apply for full-time elsewhere and you will definitely get a lot of interviews giving your experience (personally doing that atm)

I'm at an American BB currently in the HK office. It's possible to get a FT offer post internship (I mean anything is possible) but getting junior role with Visa sponsorship is getting harder and harder these days, even if you went to a American target. The Visa process is becoming such a pain in the ass for firms and they would just rather not deal with it when there are a plethora of viable american citizens (the pain is especially bad with the H-1B and the new renewal process). Your best bet is to get a return from your summer in HK, work hard and prove yourself and then do an intern transfer from HK to NYC through some type of global mobility program (all the big banks have some type of mobility program). From what I understand, the internal transfer mobility programs (transfer to the US) are hard to get these days where the Visa is based on the J1 Visa. Since Trump has taken office junior bankers are now getting rejected during the Visa interview where it used to essentially be a formality (there are not my new rules or regulations but I think immigration office is putting extra scrutiny on Visa candidates to show the Adminstration that they arent just passing everyone as they once did.)
Of course this extra scrutiny could end with the next president but as of now, I have personally seem 3 juniors scrap their US relocation plans at he last minute and chose different cities due to failed Visa interviews.

What are the chances of finding an FT job at a BB with a BB (think GS,MS,JPM) SA, if I have cannot take up the return offer route? I have yet to start my SA this year, but due to academic and personal reasons, I am quite certain that I will be unable to take a return offer (even if they decided to give me one).
If I am interested of getting back into front office at any BB next year, what would be my chances given that I will complete my SA this year? Would it be easier for me to defer my graduation by a year and to take the SA->Return offer route again? If getting back into a BB sounds difficult, should I aim lower?
