Is it possible to get an internship post graduation?

I graduated with an engineering degree last summer and I am working in a commercial role for an O&G company but wish to move into finance (preferably buy side). I know this is obviously very difficult and I am thinking about taking an MSc finance course at a top business school next year once I have saved up enough but in the summer prior to this, would it be possible for me to get a summer internship in a finance related role? I doubt any BB would offer a summer intern position to someone almost 2 years post grad but just wondering if anyone has ever managed this and any tips to try and put myself in the best position.
