Is it wise to apply for diversity events outside my graduation date?

Im a rising sophomore majoring in accounting and finance.

Im debating on whether to apply for the FRBNY's Undergraduate Summit since its outside my graduation date. According to a flyer I received from a SEO event, qualified students graduate between 2019 and 2020. However, the recruiter I spoke to at the event still gave me a flyer. I also don't want to invest too much energy in the application process and not even get accepted. A cover letter is required so I have to alter my old one, which will take 15 minutes.
