Is networking for summer 2026 internships now too early?
I've been sending out a couple of emails a day for the past two week, and have gotten a pretty bad response rate (<10%). In the few calls I did have, a couple of bankers mentioned that networking now is still a bit too early. Do you guys agree? Should I wait until October instead to network?
Depends on how u are positioning your calls. If you are just a sophomore that is very interested in finance and want to learn more many are very receptive. If you are trying to schmooze and looking to be put on the referral spreadsheet then it is way too early.
Doing the same and all of my calls have been that its too early for recruiting stuff. Kinda sucks since i wasted those calls but they said to start in october.
